“Luminous Night” – a concert full of musical radiance

Many visitors to the 3rd Choral Night (Chornacht) in Zug on Saturday, 13th September have already enjoyed a small taste of our upcoming concert– and we were delighted by their enthusiastic response! We are now pleased to invite you to experience the full programme live.
On the 25th and 26th October, the Audite Nova Zug choir will be presenting its “Luminous Night” concert – an atmospheric programme featuring works from the Romantic and the present day. The name is taken from the impressive work “Luminous Night of the Soul” by the Norwegian composer Ola Gjeilo, which captivates with cinematic soundscapes and spiritual depth.
Alongside the music of Gjeilo, the programme includes Romantic choral pieces by Johannes Brahms, including the passionate ‘Zigeunerlieder’ and the atmospheric ‘Four Quartets, Op. 92’ . Works by Josef Rheinberger and Heinrich von Herzogenberg will add nocturnal melancholy and lyrical sonic beauty, while the touching ‘Nocturne Op. 33 No. 1’ by Gabriel Fauré will provide an instrumental highlight.
Internationally acclaimed pianist Sergey Tanin will accompany us on the piano, and the choir will also be supported by a finely balanced string ensemble for Gjeilo’s ‘Luminous Night’ and Rheinberger’s ‘Die Nacht’.
Look forward to an evening of contrasts – between light and darkness, inner contemplation and radiant ecstasy.
