Bach’s baroque masterwork on the Swiss Thanksgiving Day weekend in Cham
This unique masterwork will resound in St. Jacob’s Church, Cham on the Swiss Thanksgiving Day weekend, September 19 and 20. The Audite Nova Choir and the Capriccio Baroque Orchestra, together with Nuria Rial (soprano), Ingrid Alexandre (alto), Jakob Pilgram (tenor) and Markus Volpert (bass), will perform this truly impressive work in the beautiful baroque church under the direction of Johannes Meister.
To enhance listeners’ appreciation and enjoyment of this concert, Gabriela Kägi, music editor of Swiss Radio and Television, will present an introduction to the multifarious mysteries of this work an hour before the start of each concert. Thus one will be able discern in the Credo an “open passage to Paradise” and be able to trace the remarkable numerological code incorporated throughout this monumental work of Bach. These presentations will be held in the St. Jacob’s Church Parish Hall (Pfarreiheim), Cham.
